'Deserves' in the Bible

then it shall be that if the guilty man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall make him lie down and be beaten in his presence with a [certain] number of stripes in proportion to his offense.

or a provision bag for your journey, or even two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker deserves his support.

What do you think?” They answered, “He deserves to be put to death.”
