'Destined' in the Bible
“He does not believe that he will return from darkness,And he is destined for the sword.
“He has lived in desolate cities,In houses no one would inhabit,Which are destined to become ruins.
“Though his sons are many, they are destined for the sword; And his descendants will not be satisfied with bread.
And it shall be that when they say to you, ‘Where should we go?’ then you are to tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord:“Those destined for death, to death; And those destined for the sword, to the sword; And those destined for famine, to famine; And those destined for captivity, to captivity.”’
(which all refer to things destined to perish with use)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men?
so that no one would be disturbed by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we have been destined for this.
For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.
