'Elders' in the Bible

“I called to my lovers, but they deceived me;My priests and my elders perished in the cityWhile they sought food to restore their strength themselves.

The elders of the daughter of ZionSit on the ground, they are silent.They have thrown dust on their heads;They have girded themselves with sackcloth.The virgins of JerusalemHave bowed their heads to the ground.

The presence of the Lord has scattered them,He will not continue to regard them;They did not honor the priests,They did not favor the elders.

Princes were hung by their hands;Elders were not respected.

Elders are gone from the gate,Young men from their music.
