'Except' in the Bible

For we are not writing [anything] else to you except what you can read or also understand. But I hope that you will understand {completely},

For if I [cause] you sorrow, then who will make me glad except the one who is caused to be sad by me?

On behalf of such a person I will boast, but on behalf of myself I will not boast, except in my weaknesses.

{For in what respect are you made worse off} more than the rest of the churches, except that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!
