'Eyelids' in the Bible
“My face is flushed from weeping,And deep darkness is on my eyelids,
“His sneezes flash forth light,And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven;His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
You have held my eyelids open;I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
I will not give sleep to my eyesOr slumber to my eyelids,
Give no sleep to your eyes,Nor slumber to your eyelids;
Do not desire her beauty in your heart,Nor let her capture you with her eyelids.
There is a kind—oh how lofty are his eyes!And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
“Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us,That our eyes may shed tearsAnd our eyelids flow with water.
