'Gloom' in the Bible

“Let darkness and black gloom claim it;Let a cloud settle on it;Let the blackness of the day terrify it.

The land of utter gloom as darkness itself,Of deep shadow without order,And which shines as the darkness.”

But I am not silenced by the darkness,Nor deep gloom which covers me.

“Man puts an end to darkness,And to the farthest limit he searches outThe rock in gloom and deep shadow.
