'Hope' in the Bible
“O Hope of Israel,Its Savior in time of distress,Why are You like a stranger in the landOr like a traveler who has pitched his tent for the night?
Are there any among the idols of the nations who give rain?Or can the heavens grant showers? Is it not You, O Lord our God?Therefore we hope in You,For You are the one who has done all these things.
O Lord, the hope of Israel,All who forsake You will be put to shame. Those who turn away on earth will be written down,Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the Lord.
For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
“There is hope for your future,” declares the Lord,“And your children will return to their own territory.
“All who came upon them have devoured them; And their adversaries have said, ‘We are not guilty,Inasmuch as they have sinned against the Lord who is the habitation of righteousness,Even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.’
