'Money' in the Bible
He told them to take nothing for the journey except a mere walking stick—no bread, no [traveler’s] bag, no money in their belts—
Looking at him, Jesus felt a love (high regard, compassion) for him, and He said to him, “You lack one thing: go and sell all your property and give [the money] to the poor, and you will have [abundant] treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me [becoming My disciple, believing and trusting in Me and walking the same path of life that I walk].”
And He sat down opposite the [temple] treasury, and began watching how the people were putting money into the treasury. And many rich people were putting in large sums.
For this perfume might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii [a laborer’s wages for almost a year], and the money given to the poor.” And they scolded her.
When they heard this they were delighted, and promised to give him money. And he began looking for an opportune time to betray Jesus.
