'Passes' in the Bible
“For the mountains I will take up a weeping and wailing,And for the pastures of the wilderness a dirge,Because they are laid waste so that no one passes through,And the lowing of the cattle is not heard; Both the birds of the sky and the beasts have fled; they are gone.
Who is the wise man that may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined, laid waste like a desert, so that no one passes through?
To make their land a desolation,An object of perpetual hissing;Everyone who passes by it will be astonishedAnd shake his head.
I will also make this city a desolation and an object of hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its disasters.
“Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss at all its wounds.
“Because of the indignation of the Lord she will not be inhabited,But she will be completely desolate;Everyone who passes by Babylon will be horrifiedAnd will hiss because of all her wounds.
“Her cities have become an object of horror,A parched land and a desert,A land in which no man livesAnd through which no son of man passes.
