'Promised' in the Bible

Just as He promised to our fathers,To Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

Just as He promised by the mouth of His holy prophets from the most ancient times—

To show mercy [as He promised] to our fathers,And to remember His holy covenant [the promised blessing],

Listen carefully: I am sending the Promise of My Father [the Holy Spirit] upon you; but you are to remain in the city [of Jerusalem] until you are clothed (fully equipped) with power from on high.”
