'Sinner' in the Bible
If the righteous will be rewarded in the earth,How much more the wicked and the sinner!
Righteousness guards the one whose way is blameless,But wickedness subverts the sinner.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
For to a person who is good in His sight He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God’s sight. This too is vanity and striving after wind.
And I discovered more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are chains. One who is pleasing to God will escape from her, but the sinner will be captured by her.
Although a sinner does evil a hundred times and may lengthen his life, still I know that it will be well for those who fear God, who fear Him openly.
It is the same for all. There is one fate for the righteous and for the wicked; for the good, for the clean and for the unclean; for the man who offers a sacrifice and for the one who does not sacrifice. As the good man is, so is the sinner; as the swearer is, so is the one who is afraid to swear.
Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.
And there was a woman in the city who was a sinner; and when she learned that He was reclining at the table in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume,
Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching Him, that she is a sinner.”
I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”
Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, “This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others were saying, “How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?” And there was a division among them.
So a second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, “Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.”
He then answered, “Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?
let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner?
