'Surrounded' in the Bible

The cords of death surrounded me,And the streams of ungodliness and torrents of destruction terrified me.

The cords of Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) surrounded me;The snares of death confronted me.

Many [enemies like] bulls have surrounded me;Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.

They encompassed me, yes, they surrounded me [on every side];In the name of the Lord I will cut them off.
