'Swifter' in the Bible
“Saul and Jonathan, beloved and pleasant in their life,And in their death they were not parted; They were swifter than eagles,They were stronger than lions.
“My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle,And come to an end without hope.
“Now my days are swifter than a runner; They flee away, they see no good.
“Behold, he goes up like clouds,And his chariots like the whirlwind; His horses are swifter than eagles.Woe to us, for we are ruined!”
Our pursuers were swifterThan the eagles of the sky; They chased us on the mountains,They waited in ambush for us in the wilderness.
“Their horses are swifter than leopardsAnd keener than wolves in the evening.Their horsemen come galloping,Their horsemen come from afar; They fly like an eagle swooping down to devour.
