Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say,“Blow the trumpet in the land;Cry aloud and say,‘Assemble yourselves, and let us goInto the fortified cities.’
My soul, my soul! I am in anguish! Oh, my heart!My heart is pounding in me;I cannot be silent,Because you have heard, O my soul,The sound of the trumpet,The alarm of war.
How long must I see the standardAnd hear the sound of the trumpet?
“Flee for safety, O sons of Benjamin,From the midst of Jerusalem!Now blow a trumpet in TekoaAnd raise a signal over Beth-haccerem;For evil looks down from the north,And a great destruction.
“And I set watchmen over you, saying,‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’But they said, ‘We will not listen.’
saying, “No, but we will go to the land of Egypt, where we will not see war or hear the sound of a trumpet or hunger for bread, and we will stay there”;
“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,“That I will cause a trumpet blast of war to be heardAgainst Rabbah of the sons of Ammon;And it will become a desolate heap,And her towns will be set on fire.Then Israel will take possession of his possessors,”Says the Lord.
Lift up a signal in the land,Blow a trumpet among the nations!Consecrate the nations against her,Summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni and Ashkenaz;Appoint a marshal against her,Bring up the horses like bristly locusts.
