'Waves' in the Bible

For my iniquities have gone over my head [like the waves of a flood];As a heavy burden they weigh too much for me.

Deep calls to deep at the [thundering] sound of Your waterfalls;All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.

Who stills the roaring of the seas,The roaring of their waves,And the tumult of the peoples,

Your wrath has rested heavily upon me,And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah.

You rule the swelling of the sea;When its waves rise, You still them.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord,The floods have lifted up their voice;The floods lift up their pounding waves.

More than the sounds of many waters,More than the mighty breakers of the sea,The Lord on high is mighty.

For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind,Which lifted up the waves of the sea.

He hushed the storm to a gentle whisper,So that the waves of the sea were still.
