A Summary Of The Covenant

³⁰ and that we will not give our daughters to the peoples of the land or take their daughters for our sons. ³¹ As for the peoples of the land who bring wares or any grain on the sabbath day to sell, we will not buy from them on the sabbath or a holy day; and we will forego the crops the seventh year and the exaction of every debt. ³² We also placed ourselves under obligation to contribute yearly one third of a shekel for the service of the house of our God:

Leviticus 23:3

‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.

Exodus 12:16

On the first day you shall have a holy assembly, and another holy assembly on the seventh day; no work at all shall be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person, that alone may be prepared by you.

Leviticus 16:29
