Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord

“Even after my skin is destroyed,

And devout men are taken away, while no one understands.
For the righteous man is taken away from evil,

If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into

renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him—

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
