Now on the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ we charge and exhort such persons to do their own work with quiet and eat their own bread.

Give us today our daily bread for the day.

and as they all had the same trade, they proceeded to work together.

You know yourselves that these hands of mine provided for my own needs and for my companions.

We have worked hard with our own hands for a living. When abused by people, we bless them. When persecuted, we patiently bear it.

and when I was with you and needed money, I never burdened a single one of you for a cent, for the brothers came from Macedonia and supplied what I needed. And so I kept myself, as I shall always do, from being a burden to you in any way.
