A Davidic psalm.The earth and everything in it,
the world and its inhabitants,
belong to the Lord;

The good

Then the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush. As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed.

Now concerning the dead being raised—haven’t you read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him: I

am the God of Abraham

and the God of Isaac

and the God of Jacob?

After 40 years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush.

When Midianite traders passed by, his brothers pulled Joseph out of the pit and sold him for 20 pieces of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took Joseph to Egypt.

The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, serving in the household of his Egyptian master.

They served him by himself, his brothers by themselves, and the Egyptians who were eating with him by themselves, because Egyptians could not eat with Hebrews, since that is abhorrent to them.

“Return quickly to my father and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.

The blessings of your father excel
the blessings of my ancestors
and the bounty of the eternal hills.

May they rest on the head of Joseph,
on the crown of the prince of his brothers.

Separated

For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
