Mockings

They forced him to stand between the columns. When the people saw him, they sang praise to their god: Our god gave us victory over our enemy, who devastated our land and killed so many of us!

Elisha left Jericho to go to Bethel. On the way some boys came out of a town and taunted and made fun of him. They shouted: Get out of here, baldy!

So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

They mocked God's messengers. They despised his words, and made fun of his prophets until Jehovah became angry with his people. He could no longer heal them.

O Jehovah, You have deceived me. I was deceived! You have overcome me and prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all day long; everyone mocks me.

They will turn him over to the heathen to be made sport of and to be whipped. He will be put to death on the stake. The third day he will come back from the dead.

They will mock him, spit on him, and scourge him. Then they will kill him. After three days he will rise again.

He will be delivered up to the people of the nations, and will be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon.

And Herod with his soldiers despised him with contempt, and mocked him. They arrayed him in magnificent apparel. Then they sent him back to Pilate.

The prophet Zedekiah went to Micaiah and slapped his face. He asked: Since when did Jehovah's spirit leave me and speak to you?

You shared the sufferings of prisoners. When all your belongings were seized, you endured your loss gladly. This is because you knew that you possessed something much better, which would last forever.

For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you people of the nations.

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, invite you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called.

The Lord grants mercy to the house of Onesiphorus: for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chains.

I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal. But the word of God is not imprisoned.

Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil (false accuser) (Devil) is about to throw you into prison, that you may be tested. You will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful even if you must die, and I will give you the crown of life.
