John 19:2

And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they clothed him in a purple robe.

The soldiers led him away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and they called together the whole battalion.

And Herod with his soldiers treated him with contempt and mocked him; then, dressing him in a gorgeous robe, he sent him back to Pilate.
