Joshua 14:6

Caleb Receives Hebron

⁵ The people of Israel did as Jehovah commanded Moses. They divided the land. ⁶ Then the sons of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the word which the Lord spoke to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh-barnea. ⁷ I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Jehovah sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land. I brought him word again as it was in my heart.

Numbers 14:30

I raised my hand and swore an oath to give you this land to live in. But none of you will enter it except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Joshua 14:14

Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite to this day, because that he wholly followed Jehovah the God of Israel.

Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
