Simon Peter and another disciple followed them as they brought Jesus to Annas. (Now the other disciple was acquainted with the high priest, and he went with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard.)

This was in the time when Annas and Caiaphas were chief priests. The word of God was delivered to John the son of Zechariah. He was in the wilderness.

They led him to Annas first for he was father in law to Caiaphas who was high priest that year.

The high priest asked Jesus about his disciples and about the things he taught.

Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
