but if your Eye is selfish, the whole of your body will be darkened. And if your very light turns dark, then ??what a darkness it is!

Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind, and if one blind man leads another, both of them will fall into a pit."

With regard to food that has been offered to idols. Here, of course, 'we all possess knowledge'! Knowledge puffs up, love builds up.

You declare, 'I am rich, I am well off, I lack nothing!' ??not knowing you are a miserable creature, pitiful, poor, blind, naked.

A light

The people who sat in darkness saw a great light, yea light dawned on those who sat in the land and the shadow of death.

You are the light of the world. A town on the top of a hill cannot be hidden.

to shine on those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our steps into the way of peace."

so as to be blameless and innocent, faultless children of God in a crooked and perverse generation where you shine like stars in a dark world;
