'Cross Over the Jordan' in the Bible

and all of you armed men cross over the Jordan before the Lord until He has driven His enemies out from before Him,

“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you cross over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

just as the sons of Esau who live in Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me, until I cross over the Jordan into the land which the Lord our God is giving to us.’

Your servant would merely cross over the Jordan with the king. Why should the king compensate me with this reward?
