Matthew 15:32-39 - The Feeding Of Four Thousand
32 Then Jesus called his disciples to him, and said: I have compassion on the multitude, because they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat. And I am not willing to send them away fasting, lest they faint on the road.
33 And his disciples said to him: Whence should we have in the desert as many loaves as would satisfy so great a multitude?
34 And Jesus said to them: How many loaves have you? They said: Seven, and a few little fishes.
35 And he commanded the multitude to recline on the ground. 36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke, and gave thorn to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the multitude. 37 And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up what remained of the broken pieces, seven baskets full. 38 And those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 And he sent the multitudes away, and entered the ship, and went into the borders of Magdala.
1 In those days, the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said to them: 2 I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days, and have nothing to eat. 3 And if I send them home fasting, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.
4 And his disciples answered him: Whence will any one be able to satisfy these men with bread, here in the wilderness?
5 And he asked them: How many loaves have you? And they said: Seven. 6 And he commanded the multitude to recline on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before them: and they set them before the multitude. 7 And they had a few small fishes; and he blessed, and commanded that they also be set before them. 8 And they ate, and were satisfied; and they took up what remained of the broken pieces, seven baskets. 9 And those who had eaten were about four thousand; and he sent them away. 10 And he immediately entered the ship with his disciples, and went into the regions of Dalmanutha.
