Matthew 26:26-30 - The Lord's Supper

²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said: Take, eat; this is my body. ²⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: Do you all drink of it: ²⁸ for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many in order to the remission of sins. ²⁹ But I say to you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, till that day when I drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father. ³⁰ And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

²³ And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them; and they all drank of it. ²⁴ And he said to them: This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many. ²⁵ Verily I say to you, I shall drink no more of the fruit of the vine, till that day when I shall drink it new in the kingdom of God. ²⁶ And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

¹⁴ And when the hour had come, he reclined at table, and the twelve apostles with him. ¹⁵ And he said to them: I have greatly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer. ¹⁶ For I say to you, I will eat of it no more till it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. ¹⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said: Take this, and divide it among yourselves; ¹⁸ for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine till the kingdom of God has come.

¹⁹ And he took bread, and gave thanks; and he broke, and gave it to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you: do this in remembrance of me.

²⁰ In like manner also, the cup, after he had supped, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. ²¹ But, behold, the hand of him that delivers me up is with me on the table. ²² And the Son of man goes, as it is determined; but alas for that man by whom he is delivered up.

²³ And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it could be that was about to do this thing.
