Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?

If only I knew how to find Him,
so that I could go to His throne.

I would learn how He would answer me;
and understand what He would say to me.

Considering then that there is no time hid from the Almighty, how happeneth it, that they which know him, will not regard his days?

How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

How cometh a man then by wisdom? Where is the place that men find understanding?

Verily, no man can tell how worthy a thing she is, neither is she found in the land of the living.

The Topaz that cometh out of Ethiopia may in no wise be likened unto her: yea, no manner of apparel how pleasant and fair soever it be.

God understands how to get there; he knows where they live.

"I wish I could go back to how things were a few months ago; when God used to watch over me,


“Indeed, how could the strength of their hands profit me?
Vigor had perished from them.


“Among the bushes they cry out [like wild animals];
Beneath the prickly scrub they gather and huddle together.

For how great a portion shall I have of God from above? And what inheritance from the Almighty on high?

then what shall I do when God rises up? And when he enquires, how shall I answer him?

For I know not how to flatter; my Maker would soon take me away.


“If there is an angel as a mediator for him,
One out of a thousand,
To explain to a man what is right for him [that is, how to be in right standing with God],

How may a hater of right be a ruler? and will you say that the upright Ruler of all is evil?

How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.


Teach me what I do not see [in regard to how I have sinned];
If I have done wrong (injustice, unrighteousness),
I will not do it again’?

Oh, how Job needs to be given a full court trial, as a rebuke to those who practice evil,


“For you say, ‘What advantage have you [by living a righteous life]?
What profit will I have, more [by being righteous] than if I had sinned?’

Look unto the heaven, and behold it: consider the clouds, how they are higher than thou.


“If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him?
And if your transgressions are multiplied, what have you done to Him?

How much less when thou sayest thou beholdest him not, The cause is before him, and thou waitest for him!

God tells them what they have done
and how arrogantly they have transgressed.

"O consider how great and excellent his works be, whom all men love and praise:

Can anyone understand how the clouds spread out
or how the thunder roars from God’s pavilion?

See how he scattered his lightning about him; he has covered the depths of the sea.

Dost thou know how God layeth his charge upon them, And causeth the lightning of his cloud to shine?


“Do you know about the layers of thick clouds [and how they are balanced and poised in the heavens],
The wonderful works of Him who is perfect in knowledge,

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

How may he have knowledge of my desire for talk with him? or did any man ever say, May destruction come on me?


“Out of the north comes golden splendor [and people can hardly look on it];
Around God is awesome splendor and majesty [far too glorious for man’s eyes].

Hast thou also perceived how broad the earth is? Now if thou hast knowledge of all,

Knowest thou, when thou wast born, how old thou shouldest be?

How is it, the way the light is distributed, and how does the east wind spread itself on the earth?

How their young ones grow up and wax great through good feeding?

lo, how strong he is in his loins, and what power he hath in the navel of his body.
