The Spirit Himself witnesses along with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

And likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmity. For we know not what we should pray for as it behooves us: but the Spirit himself makes intercession with unutterable groanings:

For I speak, through the grace which has been given unto me, for every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, as God has imparted to each one the measure of faith.

For no one of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself:

Then therefore each one of us shall give an account to God for himself.

The faith which you have, have it with yourself before God. Happy is the one not judging himself in that which he approves:

for Christ did not please himself; but, as has been written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
