Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelled in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, from the middle of the river, and from half of Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

And the sons of Ulam; Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

And when all Jabesh-gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,

Among the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even among the Hebronites, according to the genealogy of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Jazer of Gilead.

He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.

Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the helmet for my head; Judah is my lawgiver;
