Then Herod, [when he] saw that he had been deceived by the wise men, became very angry, and he sent [soldiers] [and] executed all the children in Bethlehem and in all the region [around] it from [the age of] two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined precisely from the wise men.

Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the district around the Jordan were going out to him,

"In addition, when you fast [i.e., go without food and/or drink for religious reasons], do not be like the hypocrites with long faces, for they go around with gloomy expressions on their faces in order to advertise that they are fasting. It is true when I say to you, these people have [already] received their reward.

"Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls in front of pigs, lest they trample them with their feet, and turn around [and] tear you to pieces.

But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Take courage, daughter; your [personal trust and confident] faith [in Me] has made you well.” And at once the woman was [completely] healed.

And Jesus was going around all the towns and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and every sickness.

Then inquire around for a trustworthy family in every town or village you enter, and stay there [with them] until it is time to move on.

It is true when I say to you, the districts around Sodom and Gomorrah [i.e., despite their gross sins] will be shown more leniency than that town on the day of judgment.

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

And large crowds gathered close around him, so that he got into a boat to sit down, and all the crowd was standing on the shore.

Now when Jesus heard about it He left there in a boat and went [across to the east side of the lake] to a deserted place. When the crowds found out [He was leaving] they followed Him [i.e., by traveling around] on the shore from the [surrounding] towns.

Around three in the morning, He came toward them walking on the sea.

And when the men of that place recognised him, they sent to that whole country around, and they brought to him all that were ill,

When it was about nine o'clock in the morning, he went out again and saw others standing around in the marketplace without work.

And about the eleventh hour (5:00 p.m.) he went out and found others standing around, and he said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’

Jesus said, "My man, do your errand." Then they laid hands on Jesus and seized him.

Meanwhile the Chief Priests and the whole of the High Council were trying to get such false evidence against Jesus, as would warrant putting him to death,

Being therefore gathered around him, Pilate said to them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus called Messiah?

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into headquarters and gathered the whole company around Him.

While they went on this errand, some of the guards came into the city and reported to the High Priests every detail of what had happened.
