Then said Lamech unto his wives Adah and Zillah, "Hear my voice ye wives of Lamech, and hearken unto my words, for I have slain a man and wounded myself, and have slain a young man, and got myself stripes.

"He that smiteth a man that he die, shall be slain for it.
