Glory » Seek not, from man
When you give in charity, never blow a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and streets in order that their praises may be sung by men. I solemnly tell you that they already have their reward.
nor did we seek glory either from you or from any other mere men, although we might have stood on our dignity as Christ's Apostles.

Ministers » Should be » Disinterested

nor did we seek glory either from you or from any other mere men, although we might have stood on our dignity as Christ's Apostles.
Simplicity » Should be exhibited » In preaching the gospel

For, as you are well aware, we have never used the language of flattery nor have we found pretexts for enriching ourselves--God is our witness; read more.
nor did we seek glory either from you or from any other mere men, although we might have stood on our dignity as Christ's Apostles. On the contrary, in our relations to you we showed ourselves as gentle as a mother is when she tenderly nurses her own children.
