Thematic Bible

I was given a painful physical ailment that will keep me from being puffed up with pride because of the many wonderful things I saw. It acts as Satan's messenger to beat me and keep me from being proud.

So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And in the morning I did as I was commanded.

Even to this present hour we both hunger and thirst. We are naked. We are treated badly and we are homeless.

We do not want anyone to be discouraged by these troubles. You know we were bound to suffer persecution.

Although all of this happened to us, we never forgot you. We never ignored your promise. Our hearts never turned away. Our feet never left your path. You crushed us in a place for jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? It is written: For your sake we are put to death all day long. We are considered as sheep for the slaughter. (Psalm 44:22) In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
