The people of Israel and Judah have made me furious because they are evil. The people, their kings and officials, their priests and prophets, and the Judeans and those who live in Jerusalem have turned their backs, not their faces to me. Let every person be subject to superior authorities. For there is no authority except by God. God allows the authorities to serve in their positions. You saw their loathsome idols made of wood, stone, silver, and gold. Make sure that no man, woman, family, or tribe standing here today turns from Jehovah our God to serve the gods of other nations.
