Seven days thou shall eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to LORD. And every firstling which thou have that comes of a beast, the males shall be LORD's. And every firstling of a donkey thou shall redeem with a lamb, and if thou will not redeem it, then thou shall break its neck. And all the first-born of man among thy sons thou shall redeem. And it shall be, when thy son asks thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shall say to him, By strength of hand LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage. And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that LORD slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast. Now this is the commandment, the statutes, and the ordinances, which LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land where ye go over to possess it, that thou might fear LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life, and that thy days may be prolonged.
