He has walled me in so that I cannot go out;
He has made my chain heavy.

You have enclosed me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.


No man has authority to restrain the wind with the wind, or authority over the day of death; and there is no discharge in the time of war, and evil will not deliver those who practice it.



“You put my feet in the stocks
And watch all my paths;
You set a limit for the soles of my feet,

“He has walled up my way so that I cannot pass,
And He has put darkness on my paths.


The disciples said to Him, "Where would we get so many loaves in this desolate place to satisfy such a large crowd?" And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven, and a few small fish."


But she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have no bread, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold, I am gathering a few sticks that I may go in and prepare for me and my son, that we may eat it and die.”


So Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered about in the wilderness of Beersheba.


Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.




Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.”


for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;

And whom God has hedged in?
