Thematic Bible: Insignificance of

Thematic Bible

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained; What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him?

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding.

What is man, that he should be clean? and he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth?

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself? Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that you are righteous? or is it gain to him, that you make your ways blameless? Will he reprove you for fear of you? will he enter with you into judgment? read more.
Is not your wickedness great? and your iniquities without end?

How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold even to the moon, and it shines not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, who is a worm?

Think you this to be right, that you said, My righteousness is more than God's? For you said, What advantage will it be unto you? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin? I will answer you, and your companions with you. read more.

Have you commanded the morning since your days began; and caused the dawn to know its place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him! or the son of man, that you make account of him! Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passes away.

How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth?

What is man, that you should magnify him? and that you should set your heart upon him?

Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you, says the LORD, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:

How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, who is a worm?
