beginning from the baptism of John, unto the day that he was received up from us, of these must one become a witness with us of his resurrection.

The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, concerning all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,

Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to draw up a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us, even as they delivered them unto us, who from the beginning wer eyewitnesses and ministers of the word, it seemed good to me also, having traced the course of all things accurately from the first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus; read more.

and he was seen for many days of them that came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses unto the people.
