Others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”
So they said to Him, “What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform?
For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You." But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet; for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. read more.

But He knew their thoughts and said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls. "For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. "Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. "If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays."

This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
“Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”
The Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, to test Him. Sighing deeply in His spirit, He said, "Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation."
