But at last two false witnesses came forward, and said, "This man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.'"

They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him. They began to accuse him, saying, "We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king."
They answered him, "If this man weren't an evildoer, we wouldn't have delivered him up to you."
