Then he released Barabbas to them. And when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified. Then taking Jesus into the praetorium, the soldiers of the governor gathered the cohort against Him. And stripping Him, they put a scarlet robe around Him. read more.
And plaiting a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And spitting at Him, they took the reed and struck at His head. And after they had mocked Him, they took the robe off of Him and put His own clothing on Him and led Him away to crucify Him. And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They forced this one to carry His cross. And coming to a place called Golgotha, which is called, Place of a Skull, they gave Him vinegar mixed with gall to drink. And when He had tasted, He would not drink. And they crucified Him, dividing His garments, casting a lot; so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, "They parted My garments among them, and they cast a lot for My clothing."


Then taking Jesus into the praetorium, the soldiers of the governor gathered the cohort against Him. And stripping Him, they put a scarlet robe around Him. And the soldiers led Him away inside the court, which is the praetorium. And they called together all the cohort. And they clothed Him with purple and plaited a crown of thorns and put it around His head. And they began to salute Him, Hail, King of the Jews! read more.
And they struck Him on the head with a reed, and spat on Him, and placing the knees, they bowed to Him. And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him and put His own clothes on Him and led Him out to crucify Him.



And when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, Pilate said to them, You have brought this Man to me as perverting the people. And behold, having examined Him before you, I have found no fault in this Man regarding those things of which you accuse Him; no, nor even Herod, for I sent you to him, and lo, nothing worthy of death has been done by Him. read more.
Therefore I will chastise Him and release Him. (For it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.) And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this One! And release to us Barabbas (who was thrown into prison because of a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder). And Pilate, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them. But they cried, saying, Crucify! Crucify Him! And he said to them the third time, Why? What evil has He done? I have found no cause of death in Him, therefore I will chastise Him and let Him go. But they pressed on him, with loud voices, requesting that He might be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed. And Pilate gave judgment that their request should be granted. And he released to them the one who had been thrown into prison for sedition and murder, for whom they had asked. But he delivered up Jesus to their will.

And the governor said, Why? What evil has He done? But they cried out the more, saying, let Him be crucified! But when Pilate saw that it gained nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. You see to it. Then all the people answered and said, Let His blood be on us and on our children. read more.

Then Pilate went out again and said to them, Behold, I bring him out to you so that you may know that I find no fault in him. Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, Behold the man! Then when the chief priests and under-officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, Crucify! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in him. read more.
The Jews answered him, We have a Law, and by our Law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. Then when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid. And he went again into the praetorium and said to Jesus, Where are you from? But Jesus gave him no answer. Then Pilate said to him, Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to crucify you, and I have authority to release you? Jesus answered, You could have no authority against Me unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin. From this time, Pilate sought to release Him. But the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar. Then when Pilate heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat at a place called the Pavement (but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha). And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, Behold your king!

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the praetorium. And it was early. And they did not go into the praetorium, that they should not be defiled, and that they might eat the Passover.

Then Pilate entered into the praetorium again and called Jesus and said to him, Are you the king of the Jews?

And he went again into the praetorium and said to Jesus, Where are you from? But Jesus gave him no answer.

he said, I will hear you when your accusers have also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's Praetorium.

Then taking Jesus into the praetorium, the soldiers of the governor gathered the cohort against Him.

And the soldiers led Him away inside the court, which is the praetorium. And they called together all the cohort.

so that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places.


And David called one of the young men and said, Go near; fall on him. And he struck him so that he died.

Then when they had crucified Jesus, the soldiers took His garments and made four parts, one part to each soldier; and also His tunic. And the tunic was without seam, woven from the top throughout. Therefore they said among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to find whose it shall be (that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says, "They parted my garments among them, and for my garment they cast lots"). Therefore the soldiers did these things.

they gave Him vinegar mixed with gall to drink. And when He had tasted, He would not drink. And they crucified Him, dividing His garments, casting a lot; so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, "They parted My garments among them, and they cast a lot for My clothing." And sitting down they guarded Him there. And they put up over His head His accusation, written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And the soldiers led Him away inside the court, which is the praetorium. And they called together all the cohort. And they clothed Him with purple and plaited a crown of thorns and put it around His head. And they began to salute Him, Hail, King of the Jews! read more.

And they made one who was passing by, Simon a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear His cross. And they brought Him to Golgotha Place (which translated is, Place of a Skull). And they gave Him wine mixed with myrrh to drink. But He did not take it. And when they had crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots on them, as, to what each should take.


And humiliating Him with his guardsmen, and mocking Him by putting luxurious clothing around Him, Herod sent Him again to Pilate.

And coming near, the soldiers also mocked Him, and offering Him sour wine, and saying, If You are the king of the Jews, save Yourself.

Then taking Jesus into the praetorium, the soldiers of the governor gathered the cohort against Him. And stripping Him, they put a scarlet robe around Him.
