And there were present several women who were looking on from a distance; they had followed Jesus from a Galilee, ministering to him. among them being Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate then commanded that it be given over to him. So Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock; and after rolling a great stone against the opening of the tomb, he went away. And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.

They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She answered, "Because they have taken away my Master, and I do not know where they have laid him." read more.
When she had said this she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her. "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing that he was the gardener, said to him, "Sir, if you have borne him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him away, myself." "Mary," said Jesus. She turned to him. "Rabboni!" she cried in Hebrew. That is to say, "Teacher." "Do not cling to me," said Jesus, "for I am not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, "'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" Away went Mary Magdalene to the disciples with the tidings, "I have seen the Master!" and that he said these things to her.

But the whole story seemed to them but an idle tale; and they disbelieved the women. The twelve were with him, and certain women whom he had delivered from evil spirits and various diseases. Mary of Magdala, out of whom seven demons have been driven, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many other women, who used to minister to him out of their substance.
