Thematic Bible: Nicodemus comes to jesus (in jerusalem)

Thematic Bible

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night, and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that Thou hast come, as a Teacher, from God; for no one can do the signs which Thou art doing, unless God be with Him." Jesus answered, and said to him, "Verily, verily, I say to you, unless one be born anew, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." read more.
Nicodemus says to Him, "How can a man he born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and he born?" Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say to you, unless one be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh: and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said to you, ye must be born anew. The Spirit breatheth where He willeth; and you hear His voice, but know not whence He cometh, or whither He goeth: so is every one who has been born of the Spirit." Nicodemus answered, and said to Him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered, and said to him, "Are you a teacher of Israel, and understand not these things? Verily, verily, I say to you, We speak that which We know, and testify to that which We have seen; and ye receive not Our testimony. If I told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe, if I tell you Heavenly things? And no one has ascended into Heaven, but He Who descended out of Heaven??he Son of Man [Who is in Heaven]. And, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that every one who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life; for God sent not His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world may be saved through Him. He that believes on Him is not judged; he that believes not has been judged already, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the Light hath come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their works were evil. For every one that practices evil hates the Light, and comes not to the Light, lest his works should be reproved; but he that does the truth comes to the Light, that his works may be made manifest, that they have been wrought in God."
