And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore, ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom, saying, Aaron shall be gathered unto his peoples; for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the sons of Israel because ye were rebels to my word at the water of Meribah. Then David said to Joab and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes and gird yourselves with sackcloth and mourn before Abner. And King David himself followed the bier.

And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those who are embalmed; and the Egyptians mourned for him seventy days.

And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the families of Israel.

And the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were fulfilled.

And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel because they had fallen by the sword.


and die in the mountain which thou shalt climb and be gathered unto thy peoples, as Aaron thy brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered unto his peoples,

And Aaron, the priest, went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD and died there in the fortieth year, after the sons of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month. And Aaron was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to go around the land of Edom, and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

And the sons of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto Mount Hor. (After this, the sons of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the sons of Jaakan to Mosera; there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar, his son, received the priesthood in his stead.
