As they left Pharaoh's presence, they met Moses and Aaron standing there. The supervisors told them, "May the LORD look on you and judge you! You have made us repulsive to Pharaoh and his servants. You have put a sword in their hands to kill us."

But there was no water for the community, so they gathered together against Moses and Aaron. How we remember the fish that we used to eat in Egypt for free! And the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic! But now we can't stand it anymore, because there's nothing in front of us except this manna." Now manna was reminiscent of coriander seed, with an appearance similar to amber. People would go out to gather it, then they would grind it in mills or pound it in mortars, and then they would boil it in pots or make cakes out of it that tasted like butter cakes.
