David defeated the Philistine with a sling and a stone. Even though David had no sword, he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

The punishment for their sins
rested on their bones,
although the terror of these warriors
was once in the land of the living.


Let the exaltation of God be in their mouths
and a double-edged sword in their hands,

in the end she’s as bitter as wormwood
and as sharp as a double-edged sword.


How the mighty have fallen
and the weapons of war have perished!

But God says to the wicked: "What right do you have to recite My statutes and to take My covenant on your lips? You hate instruction and turn your back on My words.
