Dead flies cause a bad smell [and] ruin the ointment of the perfumer. So also a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
The wisdom of the clever is understanding his ways, but the folly of fools is deceit.
Like a dog returning to his vomit [is] a fool reverting to his folly.

Understanding » Those that understand
On the lips of one who has understanding, wisdom is found, but a rod [is] for the back of one who lacks {sense}.
He who lacks {sense} belittles his neighbor, but a person of intelligence will remain silent.
Deep waters [are like] purpose in the heart of a man, and a man of understanding will draw it out.
Happy [is] {the one} who finds wisdom, and one who obtains understanding.
He who acquires wisdom loves himself; he who guards understanding [loves] to find good.
A scoffer seeks wisdom, but there is none, but knowledge {comes easily to him who understands}.

For noble things I will speak, and upright things from the opening of my lips. My mouth will utter truth, and wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips. All sayings of my mouth [are] in righteousness; none of them are twisted and crooked. All of them are straight to him who understands, and upright to those who find knowledge.
