Woe to those who devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

He devises iniquity upon his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good. He does not abhor evil.

He who devises to do evil, men shall call him a mischief-maker.

But they say, It is in vain. For we will walk after our own devices, and we will do everyone according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.



Do they not err who devise evil? But mercy and truth [are to] those who devise good.

He who shuts his eyes devises perverse things. He who moves his lips brings evil to pass.

And the instruments of the churl are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

And he said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city,

discretion shall watch over thee, understanding shall keep thee, to deliver thee from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things, who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, read more.
