For forty years I was grieved with this generation. I said: It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.
How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness! How often they caused him grief in the desert!
Our fathers in Egypt did not understand your wonders. They did not remember your abundant kindnesses. But they rebelled by the Red Sea. They complained in their tents. They did not obey Jehovah. They behaved like prostitutes.

You might not faithfully obey every word of the teachings that are written in this book. You might not respect this glorious and awe inspiring name: JEHOVAH your God.
